Shafts of light, piercing through the brume of the skies, glaze the surface of a granite stone. Specks of phenocryst reflect beams of resplendence unto the cornea. The dusky curtains had been pulled away by the chariot of Helios, waiting to be pulled over again in the night; meanwhile, the chameleon rests on a green leaf that is partially submerged in the tepid waters of the Amazon forest. As it basks in the sun, a kaleidoscope of brightly colored leaves, with droplets of water cascading from leaf to leaf, completes the morning spectacle.
The gazelle wakes up, its thin curved horns pointing to the azure sky. As its beady eyes adjust to the brightness of the day, it stands up, stretching its graceful legs, to look for the greenest patch of grass to feed the twinges of hunger that tore at its stomach. Not so far away, a Jaguar arises, stretching her jaw and simultaneously releasing a loud roar concocted by the spasms of hunger arising from the depths of her stomach. The cycle begins. She moves her tail, swatting the flies that bother her patched skin. Suddenly, a flash of brown darts in front of her. A gazelle. She could not feel happiness, just her instinct. And this time it urged her to CHASE!
That was the Law of the Forest. Every morning in the forest, a gazelle wakes up with the disturbing knowledge that it must run faster than the Jaguar or be killed. Every morning, a lion rises with the disturbing knowledge that it must catch up with the slowest gazelle or miserably starve to death. Either ways, the law was simple: run or die.
Now, two hyenas stand not too far away, observing the whole play of life moving in still pictures. Death was coming, and their breakfast was coming along with it.

This is nice! It paints a clear picture of the laws of the forest. The last part made me chuckle – It’s quite humorous.

I think I finally realise what I find so enthralling about the way you write… It’s your descriptions.. It’s like you softly reach out to the reader and draw them in, slowly but surely… We are gradually aware of colours… And then sounds… And even textures… It’s literally amazing. I am amazed.
